Dog boarding in Toronto costs roughly $50–$120 per night in 2026. The spread is wide because “boarding” covers everything from a run in a kennel block to a private suite with a yard. Here’s how to read a quote.

Typical Toronto boarding prices

  • Kennel-style run: $50–$70/night, often with walks charged extra
  • Private suite / “dog hotel”: $80–$120/night
  • In-home sitter (their home or yours): $60–$100/night
  • Holiday peaks (Christmas, March Break, long weekends): 15–30% higher, and fully booked weeks ahead

What Soulmutts charges

Our dog boarding is $85 per night, all-inclusive. That covers the room (private Executive or Premiere bedroom, or a supervised social room), unlimited days in our 4,000 sq ft private outdoor park, bedding and dishes, medication administration, photo updates, and emergency vet coordination if it’s ever needed. You bring your dog’s own food. Holiday rates apply over peak dates.

The add-ons that inflate a cheap quote

  1. Exercise. “Playtime” at $10–$20 a session is the most common extra. Ask what a dog gets for the base price.
  2. Medication. Some facilities charge per dose.
  3. Room upgrades. A “standard” room may be a run; the suite in the photos costs more.
  4. Late pickup / early drop-off. Check the hours. Ours are 7am–7pm weekdays and 9am–7pm weekends.
  5. Bath before pickup. Worth having — ours is Paws in the Bath grooming in the same building, from $29 for a bath and dry.

Is the price per night or per 24 hours?

Per calendar night is the norm, with pickup by a set time on the last day. Ask, because a “24-hour” model can add a night.

When to book

For Christmas and New Year, book in October. For March Break and summer long weekends, 4–6 weeks out. New dogs need a free assessment first, so leave time for that — it takes 45 minutes and can be done the same week you book a free assessment.

Frequently asked questions

How many nights is too many?

Dogs settled in a routine do fine on two-week stays; the first stay is best kept to 2–4 nights. See how many nights is safe for boarding.

Can I combine boarding with daycare?

Yes — boarders join the dog daycare groups during the day automatically. Many families use daycare between trips so the dog already knows the team.

Do you offer pickup?

Our van shuttle covers Leslieville, Riverdale, East York, the Beaches and surrounding areas.

Ally Fodero

Over a decade ago, Alison (Ally) Fodero – who was in the middle of completing her Masters degree at the time – returned home from a scuba diving trip to Honduras with an adopted stray dog that had followed her around during her time there. When she returned to the spot a year later, another stray dog became attached to her – one who turned out to be the sister of her dog at home, as a local informed her. Nonetheless, the adoption of the second dog was inevitable and a beautiful reunion ensued in the parking lot at Pearson International Airport. It was then that “Soulmutts” became an idea, one that would begin with one truck, one dog walker, and five or six dogs in a park.
